Working On My "Art Project"

18 Month Check-Up

Olivia had her 18-month check-up on October 7th. She was 33 1/4 inches tall and 26 pounds, 13 ounces. She is growing by leaps and bounds! She is using a lot of words now and she continues to climb anything possible. She still loves the Mariner Moose but her new best friends is Curious George. She now has a stuffed George that she takes everywhere and she begins each day by drinking milk while sitting on the couch watching an episode of Curious George while holding her stuffed George. Olivia is the happiest little girl we know and she makes everyone around her happy.

Running Circles Around The Space Needle Deck

Olivia's first visit to the space needle was also mommy's first visit to the space needle. It was a beautiful day and Olivia used the opportunity to get excercise by running cirles around the observation deck. As you can see, she made great friends with the Space Needle guide as she went around and around. She brought her Curious George book, just in case she wanted to stop and read between laps.

18-Month Birthday!

Olivia is 18 months old today! She celebrated by eating Cheerios, watching Curious George, playing her new xylophone and doing everything in her power to avoid a nap. Olivia started talking a lot more this week. She is now repeating words we say as well as practicing people's names when she hears them. Her favorite words are George (Curious George, of course), moose, noodles, brush, bath, ball and down. The words cheese and grapes are in the works. She loves to make lion, dog, sheep and cow sounds but most of all, she loves to meow in as many ways as possible. Every inflection and volume level of "meow" is big at our house right now. Climbing is still her favorite activity but now she is big enough to do a lot of it at the playground. She can't get enough of playing at Whale Tail park. Olivia has a happy disposition and as the blog photos show, she is a smiley bug. We could have never imagined 18 months ago what a beautiful and bright light Olivia would bring to all of us. Happy 18-month birthday to our sweet Olive!

My Favorite Moose

Olivia loves moose! She first became interested when she saw the Mariner Moose at a Mariner's game at the beginning of the summer. Some babies like dogs, some like cats but our baby loves moose. Uncle Nick bought this stuffed moose for Olive on his last visit to Seattle. It is her favorite!
